Insurance, Payments & Deposits
-
Yes. All renters must provide proof of liability insurance with at least $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, covering setup through cleanup. The Snohomish Historical Society must be included as an additional insured.
We recommend starting with Eventsured where you can get a quote and buy special-event liability insurance online. Select the limits above and add the Society as an additional insured. Pricing depends on your event and coverage.
Prefer to use your homeowners insurance? It may be possible, but don't assume you're covered:
1. Call your insurance agent and explain that you're renting the Waltz for an event. Ask whether your policy covers the event away from home or whether an event rider or separate policy is needed.
2. Confirm that the coverage meets the limits above and that the insurer can add the Society as an additional insured.
3. Have your insurer send us a certificate of insurance and the additional-insured endorsement (or policy wording providing that status) for review at least 30 days before your event.
-
A non-refundable reservation deposit equal to 10% of the rental fee is required. It is applied to the rental balance.
-
Yes. The damage deposit is $275 for events without alcohol and $350 for events with alcohol.
-
The remaining rental fee, add-ons, and refundable damage deposit are due 30 days before the event. For bookings made fewer than 30 days before the event, payment is due with the signed agreement.
-
If the building and contents are left clean and undamaged, the Society will issue the refund within 14 days after inspection.
-
Payment may be made by ACH/bank transfer through Square, credit card through Square with a 3% processing surcharge, or check.
